Friends for Animals Humane Society of Burke County has been recognized with the No-Kill Award from Best Friends Animal Society. Friends for Animals is now part of an elite group of organizations across the country who are leading the way to making a No-Kill nation. A No-Kill shelter is defined as a shelter that does not euthanize healthy or treatable animals. No-Kill shelters aim to save 90% or more of animals that are surrendered.
