About Us
TAASC is more than an outdoor program. It is a place where young people discover what they are capable of, and learn how to bring that confidence into the rest of their lives.
Since 1996, TAASC has used outdoor adventure, service, and mentorship to help kids and teens become compassionate, capable, and transformational leaders. Through rock climbing, paddling, backpacking, caving, wilderness skills, service projects, and real-world expeditions, students face challenges that cannot be solved from a screen or in a classroom. They learn to make decisions, work as a team, manage risk, persevere through adversity, and lead when it matters.
At TAASC, adventure is the classroom, but leadership is the lesson.
We hold young people to high expectations while giving them the support and belonging they need to rise to those expectations. Over time, competence becomes confidence, confidence becomes character, and character becomes leadership.
For nearly three decades, hundreds of young people have carried those lessons from the mountains and rivers into their families, schools, careers, and communities.
TAASC exists because we believe the leaders our communities need tomorrow are being built by the experiences young people have today.
