About Us
North Carolina Destination Imagination (NCDI) is a nonprofit educational organization that provides a competitive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) program for Kâ12 students across North Carolina.
NCDI helps students develop creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills through hands-on, student-driven challenges. Teams of students work together over several months to solve open-ended challenges in areas such as engineering, science, fine arts, improvisation, service learning, and technical design.
Students also participate in Instant Challenges that build quick-thinking and collaborative problem-solving skills. Teams present their solutions at regional and state tournaments, with top-performing teams advancing to the annual Global Finals competition.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, NCDI supports schools, homeschool groups, community organizations, and youth programs by providing resources, training, tournaments, and volunteer opportunities that inspire the next generation of innovators, creators, and leaders.
