DESCRIPTION:Want space\, equipment\, and guidance to create your own blacksmith projects? Western Piedmont Community College is offering an introduction to the safest and best practices for blacksmithing. This class is a prerequisite class for upcoming blacksmith classes such as knife making. Individuals will design and create their own small project including a fire poker\, fire striker\, or scroll bracket. Individuals will learn about the equipment set up and hammer control. In addition\, individuals will learn about hot work drawing out and forging.  Individuals must wear safety glasses and closed-toed shoes.\n\nClass Dates: 1/17\, 1/24\, 1/31\, 2/7\, 2/21\, & 2/28. The class will not meet on 2/14 due to Valentine's Day. \n\nTime: 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.\n\nLocation: Western Piedmont Community College Building C Room 101\n\nCost: $224.00  *** Individuals will pay an additional fee of $1.20 for insurance.
