SUMMARY:2024 Burke Chamber Litter Sweep
DESCRIPTION:2024 Burke Chamber Litter Sweep\n\n\n\nThe Chamber is looking to unite the community by getting citizens involved in tackling the issue of litter in Burke County through its 3rd Annual Litter Sweep. This event will take place between March 20-27 of 2024. Everyone is invited to participate! \n\n\n\nThis event is FREE and supplies are provided!\n\nCash prizes will be awarded to the three (3) teams that collect the most litter! \n\n\n\n\n\nHow it works:\n\n\n\nStep One:\n\nRegister your team\, have each teammate complete their paperwork\, and pickup supplies either at the Kick-Off Event on Tuesday\, March 19th or during the week of March 20-27 from the Chamber (110 E Meeting Street\, Morganton).\n\nStep Two:\n\nGo out and collect litter in the area that your team registered for between March 20th and 27th.\n\n\n\nStep Three:\n\nDrop off your bags of litter at one of the convenience sites listed in the information pamphlet (will be provided). Have the site attendant sign off on your team sheet.\n\n\n\nStep Four:\n\nTurn in your team sheet & supplies to the Chamber no later than March 29th during our office hours. Winning teams will be announced at the Litter Sweep Celebration on Thursday\, April 4th.\n\n\n\nWhat about recycling?:\n\nThe Burke County Chamber of Commerce would like to encourage all teams to collect recycling as well as trash! \n\n\n\nFor recyclable items (recycling guide will be provided)\, please make sure to bring them to the Chamber when full. Litter bags must be dropped off at one of the convenience sites listed in the participation pamphlets. There will be a prize for the team that collects the most recycling! \n\n\n\nRemember\, bags of recycling will need to be dropped off at the Chamber during business hours.
