SUMMARY:2023 Burke Chamber Litter Sweep
DESCRIPTION:2023 Burke Chamber Litter Sweep\n\n\n\nThe Chamber is looking to unite the community by getting the citizens involved in tackling the issue of litter in Burke County. In regards to that effort\, there is a Litter Sweep that will be held between April 24-29 of 2023 and everyone is invited to participate! \n\n\n\nThis event is FREE and supplies are provided!\n\nCash prizes will be awarded to the three (3) teams that collect the most litter! Register a team TODAY!\n\n\n\n\n\nHow it works:\n\n\n\nStep One:\n\nRegister your team\, have each teammate complete their paperwork\, and pickup supplies either at the Kick-Off Event on Thursday\, April 20th from 4-5:30pm at First Presbyterian Church (100 Silver Creek Road\, Morganton)\, or during the week of April 24-29 from the Chamber (110 E Meeting Street\, Morganton).\n\nStep Two:\n\nGo out and collect litter in the area that your team registered for during the week of April 24-29.\n\n\n\nStep Three:\n\nDrop off your bags of litter at one of the convenience sites listed in the information pamphlet (will be provided). Have the site attendant sign off on your team sheet.\n\n\n\nStep Four:\n\nGo Turn in your team sheet & supplies to the Chamber no later than May 5th during our office hours. Winning teams will be announced at the Litter Sweep Celebration on May 11th between 4pm and 5:30pm at First Presbyterian Church (100 Silver Creek Road\, Morganton).\n\n\n\nWhat about recycling?:\n\nThe Burke County Chamber of Commerce would like to encourage all teams to collect recycling as well as trash! The bags that are provided for this event are reversible. For recyclable items (recycling guide will be provided)\, please make sure your bag shows blue on the outside. Litter bags should be orange. There will be a prize for the team that collects the most recycling! Bags of recycling will need to be dropped off at the Chamber during business hours.
